Specialized Physical Therapy for Every Stage of Life

Every woman’s body is unique, and the physical demands placed on it change throughout life. Women’s Health Physical Therapy focuses on helping you move better, reduce pain, improve strength, and restore function during life’s major transitions.

Our care goes beyond treating symptoms. We identify the underlying movement patterns contributing to discomfort and create personalized treatment plans designed around your goals.

Whether you’re experiencing pregnancy-related pain, recovering after childbirth, or navigating the physical changes associated with menopause, our evidence-based approach helps you return to the activities that matter most.

Comprehensive Care Before and After Baby

Pregnancy and childbirth place unique demands on your body. Whether you’re preparing for delivery, managing discomfort during pregnancy, or recovering after your baby’s arrival, physical therapy can help you move more comfortably and recover with confidence.

At PT360, we provide individualized care throughout every stage of your journey, from prenatal preparation to postpartum rehabilitation. Our goal is to reduce pain, improve strength and mobility, and help you safely return to the activities you enjoy.

Our Women’s Health Physical Therapy services include specialized care for:

Prenatal Physical Therapy

As your body changes during pregnancy, muscles, joints, and posture continually adapt to support your growing baby. Prenatal physical therapy can help relieve discomfort, improve movement, and prepare your body for labor and delivery.

Postpartum Physical Therapy

Recovery doesn’t end after childbirth. Postpartum physical therapy focuses on rebuilding strength, restoring core stability, improving movement, and helping you safely return to exercise, work, and daily activities after delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Women's Health Physical Therapy?

Women’s Health Physical Therapy is a specialized area of physical therapy that addresses conditions related to pregnancy, postpartum recovery, menopause, pelvic health, and orthopedic concerns unique to women.

When should I start physical therapy during pregnancy?

Many women benefit from physical therapy during pregnancy if they experience back pain, pelvic pain, hip discomfort, sciatica, or difficulty staying active. Early treatment can often help improve comfort throughout pregnancy.

Can physical therapy help after childbirth?

Yes. Postpartum physical therapy can help restore core strength, improve posture, address abdominal separation (diastasis recti), reduce pain, and support a safe return to exercise and daily activities.

What is diastasis recti?

Diastasis recti is the separation of the abdominal muscles that commonly occurs during pregnancy. Physical therapy can help strengthen the core, improve function, and support recovery through individualized exercise programs.

Can physical therapy help me return to running after having a baby?

Yes. Your therapist will assess your strength, movement patterns, core stability, and readiness before guiding you through a gradual return-to-running program.

Is Women's Health Physical Therapy only for pregnancy?

Not at all. Women’s Health Physical Therapy also helps women experiencing orthopedic pain, menopause-related changes, osteoporosis concerns, and movement limitations throughout adulthood.

Does menopause affect muscles and joints?

Hormonal changes during menopause can contribute to muscle weakness, joint stiffness, decreased bone density, and changes in balance. Physical therapy can help improve strength, mobility, and overall function.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily is recommended. Athletic wear is ideal for movement assessments and exercise.

Will I receive exercises to do at home?

Yes. Your physical therapist will develop a personalized home exercise program to reinforce your progress between appointments.

Do I need a referral?

No, the state of Georgia allows for direct access to Physical therapy for the first 8 visits or 30 days. We handle referrals from your doctor after that.
